Urban Transformation, Disaster and Risk Policies

Natural disasters that may occur in the city can result in potential losses and damages in existing construction, transportation systems, and infrastructure. It can also cause risks for accessibility in the city, deterioration of buildings, unplanned urbanization, illegal construction and various disasters. With the workshop, it is aimed to develop new strategies on risk management, identification and analysis of hazards and risks, possibility to prevent or reduce risks, identification of resources and priorities, preparation and implementation of policy, strategy and action plans, preparation, prevention and risk reduction, intervention and improvement against all kinds of dangers. In line with the above objectives, new strategies will also be created regarding the accessibility and serviceability of critical facilities such as hospitals and fire brigades at the time of disaster, by minimizing "systemic vulnerability" with the analysis, planning, decision-making and evaluation processes that organize existing resources.
